St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken on a very cold December morning shortly after sunrise with a lovely soft light and was converted to black and white to emphasise the drama of the scene. The image was taken almost at high tide.

St Mary's Island and Lighthouse are situated on the North East coast of England near the town of Whitley Bay. This image was taken on the morning of a bright spring like day in March with the lighthouse nicely reflected in the calm North Sea under a lovely blue sky
