Boats at rest, moored for the evening at the quayside at Blakeney, North Norfolk. Such a peaceful scene but until the early 1900s when the harbour silted up,this was a busy port. In medival times it was noted for spices and oriental cloth and, apparently, acts of piracy! Now it is a peaceful harbour for small boats.The marshes round about are a haven for wildlife. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of the North Norfolk Heritage Coast.

TS (Training ship) Royalist as she was berthed on a bright April morning on the quayside of the River Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. The TS Royalist is the UK Sea Cadets flagship and was built as recently as 2015 in Spain

The Citadel in the harbour at Essaouira on the Moroccan coast. This fortification was created in the French style under the orders of Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdullah in the C18th. He established Essaouira as his capital using European architects to employ the latest techniques and give it a 'modern' look (for the 1700s!). Canon Rebel T3i. The North 6th Street Bridge was built in 1911 and is the only remaining steel truss bridge from that era in Wilmington. It was built to replace the original deteriorating wooden structure spanning the railroad tracks. In 2007 the bridge was renamed in memory of Mr. Harry Forden, a local community activist who strived to revive North 4th Street after the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad left Wilmington. The one-lane bridge crosses the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad Cut. It was historically considered the dividing line between the northern and southern sections of the Port City.
