This is sad. I took this image on the 5th of September, 2023, while visiting the Northumberland National Park in the UK. The tree was iconic, it had even appeared in movies. The tree was a sycamore tree, which had stood there for hundreds of years. Three weeks after I took the image, someone maliciously cut it down in the dead of the night. The tree had sat next to the wall the Roman Emperor Hadrian built (Hadrian's Wall) to keep the Scots out, parts of which are visible in the image, in a natural dip in the landscape known as Sycamore Gap. I wonder how it got its name. I feel fortunate to have been able to visit this place before some deranged person felled this stunningly placed tree. From stone age, jurassic age, ice age on, ancestral peope always created stunning 2D art on stones and cave walls. I find this kind of primitive art so interesting. I tried my best on making minimalistic abstract digital drawings from their creative art. So, I got very simplistic and great illustrations. I had great fun during the design stage so, I hope you enjoy my products as well.
