Being a diver and knowing just how tricky it can be to create natural images of pelagic wildlife can be - inspired me to create this art piece from within the Singapore Aquarium. It's not often that you see underwater such vast diversity of species within such a limited water column and to see extremely large grouper along with passing manta is an anomaly underwater... There was something that I liked in it, in particular the composure and perspective looking through the aquarium and the mirroring of both the large pelagic species as pattern. For this reason I chose to work further on the piece afterwards on computer and kept the colour balance ocean blue.

The temple is based on the Tang dynasty architectural style and built to house the tooth relic of the historical Buddha.

Be Professional. Don't Carry Balls. Don't Bootlick. Carry Balls / Angkat Bola: A local term often used in Singapore and Malaysia to refer to people who curry favour, the bootlickers, the apple polishers. This person would always be flattering the boss/managers/authorities, often with no sense of shame or self respect, in order to get into their good books. I'm quite sure we all have colleagues who're expert at this. I can't stand bootlickers, especially those who'd put down their colleagues just to appear better in their boss's eyes.

An unmistakable mid-sized kingfisher with a jet black head, white collar, and blood-red bill. It has purple-blue upperparts and pale orange-rufous underparts. Throat is white, blue tail has black underside, and in flight, white flashes on the underwings are conspicuous. Juvenile is duller blue with a small rufous-buff spot in front of the eye, a buffy collar, and dusky scaling on the breast.

The ruddy kingfisher (Halcyon coromanda) is a medium-sized tree kingfisher, widely distributed in east and southeast Asia.

A diminutive dark blue kingfisher with no rufous on the ear-patch. It has an orange spot in front of the eye, white ear tufts on the sides of the neck, and an ultramarine-blue head and neck with darker blue bands giving it a scaly appearance. Upperparts glossy dark blue with paler blue central band down the back to the rump. White chin and throat with deep orange underparts. Males have black bill with brownish-red base, while females have almost entirely red bill. Juvenile also has dark blue upperparts, but has rufous cheeks and ear-coverts similar to Common Kingfisher. Inhabits well-shaded waterways in forested area
