The humble Valiant gets a new look for 1963!

1962 would be the last year for the first generation Valiant design. This particular year was lauded for Outstanding Design by the Society of Illustrators.

1965 brought mild styling changes...and the not-so-mild 273 Commando small block!

Despite the 70's oil crisis, 1974 proved to be the best selling year for the Duster (281,378 - Wikipedia)

As the storm clouds of the gas crisis started to rise in the early 70s, Valiant's advertising shifts away from strictly performance and toward build quality.

By 1975 - The Duster was promoted more for its features then its performance (although you could still get a 235 HP 360 V8 that was not throttled by a catalytic converter).

1971 proved to be quite the year with the invention of the microprocessor, the opening of Walt Disney World, and record sales year for the humble Valiant!
