Roberto Firpo (1884-1969) was an Argentine tango pianist, composer, and leader. Firpo was among the first innovators of the classic tango music genre. He was the creator of the standard tango sextet, and the establisher of the piano in the tango orchestra.

Rodolfo Biagi (1906-1969) was an Argentine Tango musician who started his musical career by playing background music for silent movies, and this was where he was first discovered by a tango band leader.
