A common superstition in many cultures particularly Mediterranean ones is the evil eye. The belief is that someone has cursed you just by looking at you in particularly through jealousy and through this some harm or malady will befall you. The prevention? A wicked looking eye reflecting the curse back. I don't know about that but hey it's a cool looking graphic anyway. As you know an ounce of prevention is worth a tonne of cure.
