My first painting in Hangzhou, China. This is a painting that popped into my head when I saw an older woman riding her bike down the street and carrying an absurd load of nonsense on the back of the bike. I immediately wondered what sort of things had happened to her over her life and how much pressure she may or may not have dealt with during that time just trying to live day to day. I don't know, maybe she absolutely loves what she does, but to me she seemed to be worn down and just beaten. It was sad. #artJWB
