Cobalt Ornament Kids Hoodie
Storistir Kids Hoodie
designed and sold by Storistir
The orbitals are swirling in Storistir to make holiday ornaments! Kobald means goblin in German. Cobalt, element 27, was named goblin because miners digging out silver ore had to deal with cobaltite, which can look similar to silver, but contained arsenic and sulfur in addition to cobalt. The miners thought mischievous spirits were playing tricks on them with this ore so they named it goblin. Today, cobalt is used in a number of applications including corrosion-resistant alloys, magnetic recording media and vibrant pigments. Cobalt blue, of course, is made with cobalt, which can also be used to create purple, pink, green, brown and other colors.
