I got up early for this one and was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise on Fraser Island (Australia)

One of the few times I woke up early enough to see a sunrise while travelling - this one happened while I did a tour around Fraser Island, Australia, it was well worth it - so beautiful!

When we worked our way around Hook Point on the southern tip of Fraser Island, headed towards the ferry back to the mainland, we found that the beach was not yet passable due to the high tide. Instead, we got to watch the ferry (in the distance to the right of the photo) as we fished, played ball, and took photos on the beach on a perfect summer's day. I think we were all pretty happy that we got stuck there -- it was the perfect way to end a great trip.

Fantastic wind-blown patterns in the sands of Fraser Island.

Wanaka has 'that Wanaka tree,' and I think this is Lake McKenzie's equivalent. This place, located on Fraser Island on the south east Queensland coast, is absolute perfection. The sand is fine and white -- so fine that it can clean your jewelry -- and the water is so amazingly clear it's unreal. I love it.
