The werefox is a supernatural creature, a shapeshifter that transforms between human and fox. Unlike for werewolves, legends of werefoxes are not common in European folklore (though there is one ballad called Reynardine). In Native American legends, there are many stories of shamans that could shapeshift into foxes. In Asian folklore, they go by the names Kitsune, Kumiho, and Huli Jing; though, in those legends, they may have nine tails and be more of a spirit rather than a creature. Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald were students at Bailey Down High School. They were social outcasts and rivals with a field hockey player named Trina Sinclair. Ginger and Brigitte handed in a grotesque slide show assignment and were sent to the school's guidance counselor as a result. Later, Ginger, having been infected with the curse of lycanthropy killed the school janitor during a party on Halloween night.

Sightings of the White Thang go back to the 1930s in the Birmingham area. Descriptions vary from a lion/dog mix on four legs, to a white sasquatch, to a kangaroo-like animal, but all agree on the white fur and screams (like a woman or baby) that it makes.
