The wild magpies here in our vineyard / garden wouldn't do this. It was the hottest day on record in South Australia January 24 2019. Birds of every variety flocked to any source of water to keep cool - at this particular moment finches and New Holland honey eaters. Adelaide reached 46.2C in the city - The Bureau of Meteorology said the first record to fall was at Minlaton, on the Yorke Peninsula, where the mercury reached 45.7C just after 11am on Thursday. The regional centre of Port Lincoln beat its previous record when it reached 47C, while Snowtown made history at 47.3C and Parafield at 46.6C. We have weddings in our garden, here are some flowers from a special day.. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Our vines, organically grown since 2013 have been under a restoration process and are now producing premium fruit. 5 different winemakers purchase our fruit.
