Disaster Area are a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones and are generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also as being the loudest noise of any kind at all. Disaster Area are fronted by Hotblack Desiato. Their songs are on the whole very simple and mostly follow the familiar theme of boy-being meets girl-being beneath silvery moon, which then explodes for no adequately explored reason.

The number 42 is especially significant to fans of science fiction novelist Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” because that number is the answer given by a supercomputer to “the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.” Booker also wanted to know the answer to 42. That is, are there three cubes whose sum is 42? This sum of three cubes puzzle, first set in 1954 at the University of Cambridge and known as the Diophantine Equation x3+y3+z3=k, challenged mathematicians to find solutions for numbers 1-100. With smaller numbers, this type of equation is easier to solve: for example, 29 could be written as 33 + 13 + 13, while 32 is unsolvable.

Resistance Is Useless design. The much loved Vogon catchphrase and the last thing you hear before being thrown out of an airlock. (check my store for more Hitchhikers Guide designs)

Marvin uses the Improbability drive but it has a most improbable affect and changes the Paranoid Android into a doodle. (He then was put on a t-shirt)

42 - The answer to life the universe and everything - or is it - this little binary gem is perfect for a birthday OR a hitchhikers fan

“Share and Enjoy” is of course the slogan of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation Complaints Division and was displayed in three mile high illuminated letters near the SCCCD which now covers the major land mass of three medium sized planets. Unfortunately its weight was such that shortly after it was erected it collapsed and dropped nearly half its length. The protruding upper halves of the letters now appear, in the local language, to read “go stick your head in a pig” and are no longer illuminated except at times of special celebration.
