When I started this, I started by wanting to do something with type and the idea of using a skull came and I started thinking about putting the type above and below the skull. From there I had to figure out what I wanted the words to be. I was thinking of maybe a quote about bones or something for a movie but I couldnt find any I really liked. Then I thought it would be cool if it was about life or creation of some sort. Then from nowhere I started thinking about religious words and gods and then the words kind of just popped into my head! The rest of the image made itself!

A robotic steampunk bird is it ready to wreck havoc on the populace or to be industrious and serve humankind? I created the bird in the 3D modeling application Groboto3D ver 3, he was then textured in ArtRage 4 & Photoshop CC 2015.

Inspired by the beautiful ceiling mosaic "Garden of Eden" of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. Photoshop, mosaic brush made by me.

This shot was taken at the Japanese garden in the Huntington Library in California. This is a RAW image that i processed in CS5 and used nik effex to enhance some color.

Remember what it feels like on hot summer evenings when you just want to put your feet in the water and grab a cold drink?

In part inspired by the lyrics "You'll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born, In the emptiness of broken flesh, at the mercy of the thorns, Every line a path into an empty heart, Where the words of now forgotten love fall silent in the dark...", it is also an attempt to explore how at times the pain and scars of the past and present can produce something beautiful in the end. This is a standard 3 exposure HDR that i took just after sunset. I combined the pictures in photomatix and brought the HDR for further processing in photoshop CS5. I used topaz adjust for some work with the tones as well as nik effex. This was taken on a beach in Encinitas, California. You can view all my photos on my website at www.jswolfphotography.com
