A monochrome view across the River Thames of Windsor Castle's famous Round Tower overshadowing the town. . The tower itself sits on an artificial mound or 'motte', the original being built by Henry II in c1170. The present tower is a remodelling under George IV in the 1820s. The castle has always been a Royal residence, a retreat from the centre of London. Below it the River Thames has always been a highway to and from London, at one time the main route.

A walk in Scotland’s capital brings me to the edge of the New Town, where the hills are steep and the light glimmers like a magic, playful spell on the golden stone. A row of shops in various colours catch my eye, a contrast to the Georgian symmetry. There is a mathematical precision to the architecture, lines that converge, in beautiful harmony. This work is rich in detail and in colour and would make a perfect gift, and a fantastic addition to any collection of Scottish works.

The Clock Tower at Morpeth in Northumberland was constructed between the years 1604 and 1632. It was build with stone and the walls are up to three and a half feet thick. The image is also available in colour.

A favourite view of an iconic picturesque village on the Yorkshire Coast. Staithes was once one of the largest fishing ports on the North East Coast with around 80 full time fishing boats operating but is now a popular tourist spot

The road bridge at Henley on Thames which carries the A4130 from Henley in Oxfordshire over the river to Remenham in Berkshire. Built to replace an earlier wooden structure, this bridge was designed by the architect William Hayward in 1781 and was completed in 1784, the builder being John Townesend of Oxford. On the left here is the landing stage of the Leander Rowing Club reminding us that Henley is most famous for the Royal Regatta held every July (in normal times!). The bridge is a Grade 1 listed structure.

King David I of Scotland founded St Giles’ in 1124. St Giles’ was built on the very eastern edge of Edinburgh and pre-dates most of the Old Town. The church was renovated in the 1800s, firstly buy William Burn, then by William Chambers, who added the beautiful blue ceiling.

This is Caribou Colorado. Silent and standing strong.

On my 2019 visit to Tenby this was one of the first things I saw. Entering through the gate in the wall I was immersed in this short street of colourful tourist shops. Painted in oil on a 12x12 inch board

Chipping Campden, Cotswold District of Gloucestershire Chipping Campden is one of the loveliest small towns in the Cotswolds and a gilded masterpiece of limestone and craftsmanship. The main street curves in a shallow arc lined with a succession of ancient houses each grafted to the next but each with its own distinctive embellishments. Essaouira is a fishing port on the coast of Morocco. The old town, seen in the image, is protected by 18th century fortifications designed and built by the French architect who designed St Malo in Brittany, These cannon lined ramparts were built to protect the old town or Medina which has been a world heritage site since 2001. The harbour beneath the walls is packed with both colourful small fishing boats and larger deep sea vessels.
