The majority of the 2nd Armored Divisio was based at Fort Hood Texas. The division remained on active service during the Cold War. Its primary mission was to prepare to conduct heavy armored combat against Warsaw Pact forces in defense of NATO. The division formed a key component of the U.S. military's plan to move 'ten divisions in ten days" to Europe in the event of a Soviet threat to NATO. The division practiced this task numerous times during Exercise Reforger from 1967 to 1988. To build and maintain combat skills, the division's maneuver brigades deployed almost annually to the National Training Center to face an opposing force modeling Soviet military weapons and tactics.

The 3rd Military Police Group (Criminal Investigation Division), headquartered in Fort Gillem, Georgia, supports commanders by conducting criminal investigations of serious, sensitive or special interest matters; preventing crime; preserving the force and Army resources in peacetime, combat and contingency operations throughout the Group's area of operations. As of 2010, the group consisted of 4 battalions located at Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Fort Myer, Virginia, as well as the only airborne battalion in CID at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 29 July 1998, consisting of a scarlet vertical bar throughout with indented sides charged with a yellow field piece. Scarlet and yellow are the colors traditionally used by Field Artillery. The field piece is adapted from the Field Artillery insignia of branch. The scarlet indented bar divides the background into two sections denoting military preparedness on all fronts.

The 369th Infantry Regiment, formerly known as the 15th New York National Guard Regiment and commonly referred to as the Harlem Hellfighters, was an infantry regiment of the New York Army National Guard during World War I and World War II. The regiment consisted mainly of African Americans, though it also included several Puerto Rican Americans during World War II. With the 369th Infantry Regiment,[2] it was known for being one of the first African-American regiments to serve with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Todays' lneage the 369th was re-formed into the present-day 369th Sustainment Brigade.

First constituted on 8 April 1967 in the Regular Army as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 8th Military Police Group. The unit was activated on 26 July 1967 at Fort Riley, Kansas. It was inactivated on 18 December 1967 at Fort Riley, Kansas. The unit was reactivated on 24 August 1968 in Vietnam. It was formed as part of the 18th Military Police Brigade in Vietnam to provide greater command and control purposes. It was reorganized and redesignated on 22 January 1970 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 8th Military Police Group. It was inactivated on 1 July 1972 in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, it participated in 10 campaigns of the conflict: Counteroffensive Phase V, Counteroffensive Phase VI, Tet 69.

The 8th Military Police Brigade is a military police brigade of the United States Army based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. It is responsible for Army military police units within the United States Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility. Activated during the Vietnam War, the 8th Military Police Brigade was specifically organized to provide planning, direction, and supervision for the criminal investigation work required by the U.S. Army in Vietnam. It replaced a provisional Military Police Group (Criminal Investigation) that had been formed on 3 November 1966 in charge of all criminal investigative work in Vietnam, except for the metropolitan Saigon area.

In 1983, the battalion moved to Harvey Barracks, Kitzingen. The battalion is equipped with the M1A1 MTB. The unit is scheduled to join the Army Regimental System in 1989 and will be redesignated as 4th Bn, 69th Armor.

The United States Army's 3rd Cavalry Division was created from the perceived need for additional cavalry units in the interwar period.The 3rd Cavalry Division was largely a "paper" formation existing from 1927 to 1940. Its units never assembled in a single location or conducted large scale training. It was constituted in the Regular Army but most of the support elements were part of the Army Reserve. The 1st Cavalry division experienced its first combat in the Admiralty Islands, units landing at Los Negros on 29 February 1944. Momote airstrip was secured against great odds. Attacks by Japanese were thrown back, and the enemy force surrounded by the end of March. Nearby islands were taken in April and May. The division next took part in the invasion of Leyte, 20 October 1944, captured Tacloban and the adjacent airstrip, advanced along the north coast, and secured Leyte Valley, elements landing on and securing Samar Island. Moving down Ormoc Valley (in Leyte) and across the Ormoc plain, the division reached the west coast of Leyte 1 January 1945.

The 15th Cavalry Regiment is a cavalry regiment of the United States Army. It was one of the Expansion Units originally established for the Spanish–American War, but has been a general workhorse unit ever since. Revolution broke out in Cuba in 1906, and a Marine expeditionary force was sent to the island to establish and maintain law and order. In mid-1906 Cuban internal strife caused the United States to invoke the Platt Amendment and send troops to the island nation in an attempt to restore order.

Fort Oglethorpe was a United States Army post in the US state of Georgia. It was established in a 1902 regulation, and received its first contingent in 1904. It served largely as a cavalry post for the 6th Cavalry. During World War I, Fort Oglethorpe was home to 4,000 German Prisoners of War and civilian detainees.[1] During World War I and World War II, it served as an induction and processing center. During World War II, it was a major training center for the Women's Army Corps.

The two companies were incorporated by fall of 1942 and consisted of 330 members total. They were the first group of WAACs assigned to a military installation inside the United States during World War II. The 32nd and 33rd were assigned to Fort Huachuca, where there was an all-black division of U.S. Army men.

The 150th Field Artillery Regiment ("The Raiders") is a field artillery unit in the Indiana Army National Guard. The 150th Field Artillery was formed from the 1st Indiana Field Artillery, which served during the Spanish–American War. The Indiana Field Artillery was at service on the Mexican border when the United States declared war on Germany in 1917. As the United States mobilized for World War I, the Indiana Field Artillery became federalized as the 150th Field Artillery, and assigned to the 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division, which participated in several major battles in 1918. Major Robert Tyndall was promoted to Colonel in command of the entire regiment, which was issued French 155 mm cannons.

Three Squadrons, the 1st, 2nd and 7th, served during the Vietnam War from the 1st Cavalry Regiment. The squadrons supported the 23rd Infantry Division (Americal), 101st Airborne Division, 11th Infantry Brigade, 4th Infantry Division plus numerous units of the Army of the Republic of South Vietnam (ARVN)

The 54th Artillery Group provided general support for II Field Force VIetnam Artillery and served at Xuan Loc.Moving in late 1968 to Ben Hoa.
