The Outlaw Long Sleeve T-Shirt

The first of possibly many paintings in a series of Gothic Western pieces. I originally started this piece months ago, only just now finding the time to finish it off. For this piece I focused more on mark making than composition, my aim being to experiment with scratching paint away, heavy applications versus thin applications, texture techniques and ways of conveying interesting light sources. In summary it was a chance to experiment with what I can do with paint and learning new texture making techniques. More than anything I wanted to get the background right (which should really be the last priority), but creating a grimey background whilst still being saturated with light and colour was one of my main goals.
