Called the “Tinker Toy” because of its diminutive size, the little A-4 actually bore the brunt of Naval Aviation’s strike effort during the Vietnam War, including Marine pilots providing close air support of the 1st Marine Division as they first waded ashore at Da Nang in 1965.

Jolly Rogers - VF-84, Fighter Squadron 84 was an aviation unit of the United States Navy. Originally established as VA-86 on 1 July 1955, it was immediately redesignated as VF-84, it was disestablished on 1 October 1995. It was the third US Navy squadron to be designated as VF-84. The squadron was nicknamed the Jolly Rogers and was based at NAS Oceana. It took the number but not the lineage of VF-84 the "Wolf Gang" and the insignia of VF-61 the Jolly Rogers.

McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is tandem two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber. It entered service in 1960 with the USN, it was also adopted by the USMC & USAF, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their air arms. F-4 is fighter with top speed of over Mach 2.2. In 1959, it set 15 world records for in-flight performance, including absolute speed record & absolute altitude record. F-4 was used extensively during the Vietnam War. F-4 formed major part of US air power throughout the 70s & 80s, being gradually replaced by more modern aircrafts. F-4 remained in use by the US in the recon & Wild Weasel roles in Gulf War, leaving service in 1996. F-4 was also used in 11 nations.

The intent of Operation Guardian Support is to allow the Border Patrol to increase deterrence and border security capabilities while additional Border Patrol agents are trained at the academy. National Guard units will assist the Border Patrol with logistical and administrative support, aerial support, surveillance efforts, border-related intelligence analysis efforts, and mechanical support.

Fokker was a Dutch aircraft manufacturer named after its founder, Anthony Fokker. The company operated under several different names, starting out in 1912 in Schwerin, Germany, moving to the Netherlands in 1919. During its most successful period in the 1920s and 1930s, it dominated the civil aviation market. Fokker went into bankruptcy in 1996, and its operations were sold to competitors.

The United States Army Aviation Branch is the administrative organization within the United States Army responsible for doctrine, manning and configuration for all aviation units. After the United States Army Air Corps grew into the Army Air Forces and split into the new service, the United States Air Force, the Army was left with its sole fixed-wing aviation units flying L-2 observation planes for artillery units. The Army would develop a new concept of aviation using the helicopter that would show promise during the Korean War and would revolutionize warfare during the Vietnam War.
