All of my Nickelodeon images are pictures from a coloring book which I have colored in with colored pencil. These are high quality photos of my colorings.

The original drawing was done on a 11x14 size sheet of Strathmore Bristol Vellum using Caran d'ache Luminance and Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils.

Squirrel is a powerful totem. They symbolize preparing for the future. Collect what you need to be ready for anything! This piece was creating using micron pens and colored pencils. The zentangle inspired patterns are integrated into the squirrels coat to encourage the energies of this totem to flow when you need them!

A very surprised box-shaped creature with human legs!

Peanut - A Sweet Cat Portrait in colored pencil and watercolor pencil, by Conni Schaftenaar Did this to be a Christmas gift to a friend from a photo she had taken of her cat, Peanut. Image used with permission, gave it to her today and discovered that it was not a horizontal photo image (the way it arrived to me), but rather a vertical image - the cat sitting on the window sill, rubbing her face while looking at her mom taking her photo - really made me laugh, and I decided to post the vertical version with its story, also. This is a combination of Prismacolor colored pencil and Raffiné watercolor pencil - I was trying to get the background area in the upper left to be fairly abstract, and it just wasn't working in colored pencil. ...

Toccoa Falls in Toccoa Georgia. On this visit to the falls I saw this old couple sitting on the bench enjoying the view and just sitting peacefully with each other. I had to get the shot. You would never know that there was about 8 other people in the background.

I’ve been curious about the myths and folklore about Wolverines for a while since they live just a bit further up the mountain here and is one of our larger predators. So when my friend Jonquil asked me to write a blog post about them, I couldn’t resist. And then I had to make a video from the post as well, to spread the info further. I made this drawing in relation to that video.

An awesome colored generative art Bearded Dragon!

Secretariat This is a montage painting of the great Secretariat. A racehorse that could not and can not be rivaled. He was the 1973 Triple Crown Winner. He broke records in every one of the elite races. His records still stand at all three tracks today. Big Red was a super horse plain and simple and we are unlikely to see a horse of his calibre again in our lifetimes. This painting was done digitally to replicate colored pencil. It was done on an iPad using hte app ProCreate. It would look lovely as a fine art paper print matted and framed as a living room or den piece. I also do custom commissions. My second work in colored pencil! I ordinarily work in watercolor, alcohol ink, and ink, so I'm stretching my art wings a little. This began as a blind continuous line drawing of the shape of the flower. Once the flower was done, I did a blind continuous line drawing of the stem and the bud husk on it. After the line work was done, I began filling in color, burnishing, etc. I was amazed at how well the beginning drawing went - this was a fun challenge!

Time to celebrate in furry style!
