On the way to a portrait session with these two darling sisters, I grabbed my old tea set from childhood. It was a whim, mostly by accident because my photo props and old-stuff-in-storage are on the same shelves in the garage. How happy when I noticed that the 2 yr old had a darling little dress with teacups on it!! Honest, this wasn't planned! When I first ventured into photography, 20 years ago, flowers were my obsession. That's original, huh? But the fact is, they're always lovely, patient models. Anyway, 1000s of florals later, I still take florals, but don't post so many. When I do, I'm looking for something a little different... Like the back of this Gladiolus stem. When you have a spunky 3 year old client, you can't make stuff happen. What you CAN do is put Mom & Dad in a cute spot and be ready for the Little Miss Spunkiness to be herself... Finally, this year... I have quickly seized the day-as soon as it's gathered into the lovely bales, but before the farmers fetch the hay into the barn (what are they THINKING?) . This butterfly came to me in his last day of life... still alive but moving slowly enough for me to give him interesting things to crawl on... and be photographed. As I see it, my images made him immortal. Sony a200 PSCS3 Textures my own

You know it surprises me how nervous I am to share my abstracts! Actually quite a bit more so than 'true' photographs (although all of these are composed 100% in-camera.) Perhaps they are a bit more personal because no one looking at that scene saw them quite this way (without the help of my deliberately out of focus lens). All the bees hard work... & the keepers hard work tending them (no collected honey from this frame yet, obviously.
