The Philadelphia Arrows were a professional ice hockey team that played in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1927, the club was Philadelphia's first professional hockey team and played in the Canadian-American Hockey League. The team changed its name to the Philadelphia Ramblers beginning with the 1935-36 season when it became affiliated with the NHL New York Rangers. The following season and Ramblers and the C-AHL began playing an interlocking schedule with the International Hockey League for two seasons before the two circuits formally merged to form a new International American Hockey League (renamed the American Hockey League in 1940) in June, 1938. (The Ramblers continued to play in this league until folding in 1941.)

The Beauce Jaros were a minor professional ice hockey team from Saint-Georges, Quebec, located in the Beauce region of the province. The Jaros played one full season in the North American Hockey League during the 1975–76 season, and were the NAHL's regular season champions, but lost to the Philadelphia Firebirds in the Lockhart Cup finals. The Jaros played another 30 games into the 1976–77 season before ceasing operations.

The San Francisco Seals were a minor league hockey team which played in the Western Hockey League from 1961 to 1967.

The Nova Scotia Oilers were a minor professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League based in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 1984 to 1988. The Oilers played their home games at the Halifax Metro Centre, and were the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, whose logo theirs resembled. The Oilers played four seasons before moving on. Larry Kish coached the first three seasons, followed by Ron Low in the fourth season. After the 1987–88 season, the team was relocated to Sydney, Nova Scotia becoming the Cape Breton Oilers. The void the Oilers left in Halifax was filled by the Halifax Citadels.

The Lexington Men O' War were a minor league professional ice hockey team and member of the ECHL. The name Man o' War is from a thoroughbred race horse that was bred in Lexington, and also the name of a highly traveled road in Lexington. The Men O' War played at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky from 2002 to 2003.

The Cleveland Barons, once a thriving, successful hockey team, won seven Calder Cups from 1937 to 1973. After the NBA came to town, the ice hockey team, now in the NHL, hung on for just two years from 1976 to 1978.

The Amarillo Gorillas were a minor league hockey team based in Amarillo, Texas. The team was most recently affiliated with the now defunct Central Hockey League (CHL) from 2001–10. The Gorillas began play in 1996 as the Amarillo Rattlers in the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) until the WPHL was bought by the CHL in 2001. They would continue to use the Rattlers name until an ownership change in 2002. The team made the playoffs four straight years after becoming the Gorillas until the 2006–2007 season. On May 19, 2010, the Gorillas announced they had ceased operations.

The Cincinnati Stingers were an ice hockey team based in Cincinnati, Ohio, that played in the World Hockey Association from 1975 to 1979 and in the Central Hockey League during the 1979–80 season. Their home arena was Riverfront Coliseum (now known as U.S. Bank Arena), and they were the only major-league hockey team ever to play in Cincinnati.

The Spurs became Colorado's first professional sports team to win a championship in 1971–72. After the WHL folded in 1974, the team transferred to the Central Hockey League for the 1974–75 season.
