The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. It was also the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war.

The Spitfire was the only British fighter in continuous production throughout the entire Second World War. Spitfire Mk.IX, 5J-K, Pilot Johnny Plagis. Johnny Plagis took command of No. 126 (Cat Gulf) Squadron in June 1944. He chose 5J-K because of the large letter “K” on its tail after his sister ‘Kay’ (Katrina) which was also painted on the port side. This is one of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight spitfires MK356, an LF IXe, representing Johnny Plagis' aircraft which was LM214 and an LF IXc.

The Supermarine Seafire was a naval version of the Spitfire adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. Seafire MkXVII VL105 SX336 was built in 1946 by Westland Aircraft,Yeovil and served until 1954. It was sold for scrap and in 1973 purchased for restoration, returning to flight in 2006.
