Foam lapping on the sand & coral shores of Nudey Beach. This beach, like the rest of Fitzroy Island, was stunning, but I don't think it's a place many people would like to go nude in -- after all, that would require walking barefoot on the very pointy coral that had washed up on the beach!

The sun sets over Cylinder Beach on North Stradbroke Island at the end of a gorgeous winter's day.

What an amazing sight this was. The few of us that were on Mon Repos beach late in the afternoon were treated to the sight of four hatchlings, stragglers from a nest that hatched the night befoe, as they made their first run to the sea. This poor girl in particular got tossed around by the waves, but eventually she made it out to the open sea. Hopefully she'll be returning back to the same beach in 30 years time to lay her own batch of hatchlings!

One of my favourite spots: Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island. Had I not been with a group of photographers -- and had my ND400 filter not gotten stuck on shortly after I took this -- I could have stayed at this spot all day, watching the waves and the occasional person that tried to brave them.

Another scene from sunset on Cylinder Beach from our trip to Straddie a few weeks ago. This one was taken about 15 minutes before the previous one I posted while the sun was still above the horizon -- hence the significantly more yellow sky.
