Another day on Assateague Island draws to an end and true to form, the island does not disappoint with this wonderful view. I couldn't count the number of breathtaking sunsets I've seen courtesy of Assateague. Assateague Island is one of my favorite places. It is situated on the southern end of Marylands' Eastern Shore and continues into Virginia where it ends in the Tom's Cove area. Most often I visit the federal park on the Maryland portion of the island. Assateague was once connected to Ocean City, MD but a hurricane cut the land mass in two.

Behold their true beauty. The wild horses of an isle I adore. It was a cool, crisp, perfect, autumn day to be out on the seashore. I felt an inner peace as I watched them for a while. I was inspired by their sense of freedom.
