Old Ruined Cottage in Coleraine is one of two watercolour paintings I have done of an old cottage I came across when travelling through Coleraine. It was very weathered and falling apart but as I cannot resist an old ruin I just had to paint it.

The Northern Prince, Thornham Staithe, Norfolk, UK. The small fishing boat was parked at Thornham Staithe for many years slowly fading. The Northern Prince art appeared and within a few years, the boat had gone.

Just next to the railway station where I live there is an old derelict shed, and when the evening sun shines on it, it gets some of its shiny glory back - and here I was lucky to capture it with the reflection of the vintage train in its window.

The Basilica of Maxentius was the last building to be built in the Roman Forum before the fall of Rome (Italy). It was started by the Emperor Maxentius in the early 300s AD, and it was a big meeting-space where officials could hold court cases, or public meetings.When Maxentius was killed by Constantine in the Battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312 AD (where Constantine converted to Christianity), Constantine took over construction of the half-finished basilica.

Burrowbridge in Somerset, England, is a village at the foot of a hill called Burrow Mump from which you can overlook the flatland of the often flooded Somerset Levels. The ruin of an old church adds to the charm of this idyllic place.

Nikon D5200: lens: AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm Birnbeck Pier, situated on the Bristol Channel in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, England, is the only pier in the country which links the mainland to an island, linking to Birnbeck Island, a rocky island just to the west of Worlebury Hill. The grade II* listed pier was designed by Eugenius Birch and opened in 1867. Part of the north pier collapsed during storms on 30 December 2015, and now The Victorian Society has included the pier on its list of the ten most endangered buildings of the country.
