Sachen (聖謙企業股份有限公司), was a Taiwanese developer and publisher of unlicensed games for the NES/Famicom, Game Boy and Mega Drive/Genesis, and licensed games for the Mega Duck and Supervision handhelds.

Dendy (Де́нди) is a Taiwanese hardware clone of the Nes, produced for the Russian market. It was released in 1992 by the Steepler company. The Dendy was easily the most popular video game console of its time in former USSR region and enjoyed a degree of fame roughly equivalent to that experienced by the NES/Famicom in North America and Japan.

Master Fighter II is an unlicensed port, developed by Hummer Team for the Famicom and published by Yoko Soft in 1992.

Zemina (재미나) was a South Korea-based pirate company that primarily developed for the MSX computer (which was popular in Asia) and Sega SG-1000, and started using the Master System as a platform for their products later. Their flagship series was the Super Boy series (1989-92).

Micro Genius was a division of the Taiwanese company TXC Corp. best known for its Famiclones, but which also developed and published a number of NES and Famicom games.

Takeshi no Chōsenjō (たけしの挑戦状, lit. Takeshi's Letter of Challenge), officially translated as The Ultimate Challenge from Beat Takeshi and popularly known as Takeshi's Challenge, is a Japanese action-adventure video game for the Family Computer (known internationally as the Nintendo Entertainment System) developed by Taito Corporation. Though other video games bearing the names of Japanese celebrities had been developed prior to Takeshi no Chōsenjō, comedian-turned actor and film director Takeshi Kitano (Beat Takeshi) was the first celebrity to actively contribute to the video game's development.

Contra Fighter is an unlicensed ROM hack of the NES game, G.I Joe: A Real American Hero, published by Sakano. The original character sprites have been replaced by sprites that look similar to characters from Street Fighter, even though the play style is similar to that of Contra’s.

Lico was a Taiwanese obscure electronics manufacturer(?) and developer best known for its Cai System (立可遊戲教學系統) and learning games.

The Famicom (short for Family Computer) was a gaming console released in 1986 exclusively for the Japanese market. Taking inspiration from the home computer market, the Famicom utilized a proprietary diskette system with removable "Disk Cards" that looked similar to 3.5" floppy disks, which allowed games to be produced and sold for considerably less than previous formats. The somewhat obscure Diskun (or Mr. Disk) was the mascot for the system who's design also took a cue from the disk format. The system is largely considered to be the precursor to the 8-Bit consoles that would take the world by storm throughout the late '80s, changing home gaming forever... and for the better.
