Bungamati is one of the prettiest villages in the Kathmandu valley It is a classic medieval village, dominated by the shikhara of its main temple. . Many locals make a living as woodcarvers and there are several workshops and showrooms around the main square.

Sadhu at The Pashupatinath Temple which is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Pashupatinath. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu. The temple serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath.

Men such as this carry loads around town in the basket for a price based on weight. Delivery men really. Some of the loads they carry would flatten us. Durbar Square, Kathmandu.

A small traveling company of street entertainers arrived at Durbar Square Kathmandu one afternoon to entertain us all, not just the kids.

The Pashupatinath Temple is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Pashupatinath and is located on the banks of the Bagmati River 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu.The temple is the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. This view seemed more interesting at the time as only Hindus can enter temple complex.

The Budhanilkantha statue of the Hindu god Vishnu, located about 10 kilometers from Kathmandu at the base of the Shivapuri Hill, is the largest stone carving in all of Nepal. Carved from a single block of black basalt stone of unknown origin, the Budhanilkantha statue is 5 meters in length and it lies in a reclining position inside a recessed tank of water (the cosmic sea). Called the Sleeping Vishnu, or Jalakshayan Narayan, the statue depicts the deity reclining on the twisting coils of the cosmic serpent Shesha (the eternal, multi-headed king of the serpent deities known as Nagas, and also is the servant of Vishnu). This old woman was sat outside the small Hindu shrine for a long time. She may have been its caretaker? Shrine found between Thamel and Durbar Square, Kathmandu.

In Hinduism, a sādhu is; a good man, holy man; a religious ascetic or holy person. Although the vast majority of sādhus are yogīs, not all yogīs are sādhus. The sādhu is solely dedicated to achieving mokṣa (liberation), the fourth and final aśrama (stage of life), through meditation and contemplation of Brahman. Sādhus often wear saffron-coloured clothing, symbolising their sanyāsa (renunciation). This way of life is open to women; the female form of the word is sādhvī. In 2014, an all-female akhada (group of sadhus) was formed; it is believed to be the first such group in India.

Taken at Pharping which is a town south of Kathmandu. Pharping is known to the Tibetans as Yanglseshö, and to the Nepali as Pharping. Pharping lies about two hours by bus from Ratna Park outside of Kathmandu. For Hindus its a very sacred place too and well known, because of the Dakshin Kali temple that lies in the valley near Pharping.

Swayambhunath is an ancient religious site atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple. Kamar-Taj is the home and training grounds to the Masters of the Mystic Arts, located in Kathmandu, Nepal. Kamar-Taj was founded as a place for sorcerers and sorceresses to train and control their powers. People often come here after being broken or damaged, physically and psychologically. Once they are healed from their wounds, they are allowed to choose between joining the Masters of the Mystic Arts or returning to their previous lives.
