This is a close up of some cast iron detail on the Oliver Building built in 1907. This Y symbol is officially called the "Municipal Device," and it represents the Chicago River where it splits at Wolf Point creating a Y. An inverted Y symbolizes the reversal of the flow of the river.

The Cuyahoga County Courthouse, located at Lakeside and Ontario streets in Cleveland, Ohio, is the fifth structure built to serve the city. The building was begun in 1906 and completed in 1911, at a cost of $4 million. The architects of the modern steel-and-concrete, granite-faced structure were LEHMAN AND SCHMITT, with CHAS. MORRIS� as chief designer. The courthouse is one of the finest examples of the Beaux-Arts style in the city and is ornamented with sculptures representing historic lawgivers.

A bunch of pink cherry blossom hangs over the lake in this beautifully kept park. The Park was gifted to the town of Shepton Mallet, by John Kyte Collett in 1906. It is believed that as a boy, he was told off for playing in the fields that were privately owned at the time. After many years the land started to be auctioned off and he accumulated several lots of land and presented them as a gift to the town as the park that we know and love.

This unusual window is a wonderful example of Czech Art Nouveau; it can be seen in the Municipal House in Prague, the Obecni Dum, where concerts are taking place and where there is also a very elegant café, allegedly the most beautiful café of Prague.

*Poole Municipal War Memorial, January 2021* Constructed of brick and Purbeck stone, Poole's war memorial overlooks Poole Park lake. The memorial was erected in 1927 and was designed by James Allner. Further inscriptions were added following the second World War. In this shot, an unusual double rainbow lights up an otherwise ominous looking grey sky. Date: 14th January 2021. I just loved their streets and alleyways and all the intriguing structures and colours of the city.
