A stormy day in Whitby. Whitby is a seaside town in Yorkshire, northern England.

This image was taken from the beach at Blyth in Northumberland on a morning with the storm clouds gathering in the east over Seaton Sluice and St Mary's Island. There is just the possibility that the strong sun might burn away the cloud, but probably not before a downpour.

Prints from my original acrylic painting (flow/pour style) on board. I’ve only tried this technique twice for fun and whilst messy, it was fascinating to see how the colours mixed and moved, in the end looking like quite a rough green sea.

The sea stack in Collywell Bay, Seaton Sluice, Northumberland is known locally as Charlie's Garden from the time when it was much bigger and the top was alive with vegetation. This image was taken on a cold, wet and stormy November morning as the rough seas were splashing around the stack giving a good example of why it is constantly eroding.
