I have always been fascinated by the intricate details and mechanisms of trains. As a child, I would spend hours setting up tracks and arranging my collection of trains, creating intricate routes and scenarios for them to follow. Even now, as an adult, I find myself drawn to this hobby as a way to unwind and escape from the stresses of everyday life. There's just something so peaceful about sitting back and watching the trains go by, lost in the rhythmic chugging of the locomotives and the gentle swaying of the cars. For me, playing with trains is not just a hobby - it's a way to connect with the past

Thomas Clark Durant (February 6, 1820 – October 5, 1885) was an American physician, businessman, and financier. He was vice-president of the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in 1869 when it met with the Central Pacific railroad at Promontory Summit in Utah Territory. He created the financial structure that led to the Crédit Mobilier scandal. He was interested in hotels in the Adirondacks and once owned the yacht Idler. He successfully built railroads in the Midwest, and, after an 1862 act of Congress created the Union Pacific Railroad, John A. Dix was elected president and Durant vice president of the company. Durant assumed the burden of management and money raising—and, with much money at his disposal, he helped secure the 1864 passage of

The Georgetown Loop railroad connects the once thriving Colorado mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume which lie 2 miles apart in a steep, narrow mountain canyon. Completed in 1884, this narrow gauge rail line was considered an engineering marvel for its time. It covers 3.1 winding miles of track, 640 feet of elevation gain, and crosses 4 bridges over Clear Creek, including the massive Devil's Gate High Bridge shown here.

The Flying Scotsman is an express passenger train service that operates between Edinburgh and London, the capitals respectively of Scotland and England, via the East Coast Main Line. The service began in 1862 as the Special Scotch Express until it was officially adopted in 1924. It is currently operated by the London North Eastern Railway.

A colour artwork depicting the steam locomotive Flying Scotsman as it would have been seen Circa 1930 with LNER apple green livery. This is the classic image of Flying Scotsman with the letters LNER on the tender and 4472 on the cab. From 1928 to 1936 Flying Scotsman had a corridor tender giving the crew access to the locomotive from the train. This enabled it to travel from London to Edinburgh in eight hours changing the crew without stopping.
