Freaks is a 2018 American-Canadian science fiction thriller film written and directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. Starring Emile Hirsch, Bruce Dern, Grace Park, Amanda Crew, and Lexy Kolker, the film follows a 7-year-old girl (Kolker) who leaves her home for the first time after being kept inside by her father (Hirsch). The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2018 and was released commercially in North America on September 13, 2019, by Well Go USA Entertainment. It received positive reviews from critics, with Kolker's performance receiving praise.

Considering how we communicate on Planet Earth... Maybe we should be ruled by the Whales... ConSec is a weaponry and security systems company featured in the film Scanners. Scanners is a 1981 Canadian science-fiction horror film written and directed by David Cronenberg and starring Stephen Lack, Jennifer O'Neill, Michael Ironside, and Patrick McGoohan. In the film, "scanners" are people with unusual telepathic and telekinetic powers. ConSec, a purveyor of weaponry and security systems, searches out scanners to use them for its own purposes. The film's plot concerns the attempt by Darryl Revok (Ironside), a renegade scanner, to wage a war against ConSec. Another scanner, Cameron Vale (Lack), is dispatched by ConSec to stop Revok.

was one of Cronenberg's early films that i did not have the chance to watch. On a recommendation by @mstanya88 i have watched it and it took a little bit time to sink in. It started with a premise more like "dangeorus mutants" kind of movie and lead to more of a "science gone wrong" theme we are familliar with. I really enjoyed this violent and gory take on telepathy. Telepathy is often pictured very clean and plain. Here its a matter of your "scanning" power to make someone go mad or make their whole head explode. And that head explosion gonna stick with me for a while. Loved every use of prosthetics l effects here. Only the final scene makes it worth giving the movie a chance. Illustration by Halil Karasu

When Radar, one of the youngest members of the P'nti staff originally heard of this dance step here on Earth, the first question he asked was, "Did you learn moonwalking on the moon?"

A Star Nation called the P'nti (say pon-tee) have been operating out of a facility beneath the Sandia Mountain in central New Mexico (USA) now for thousands of years. They have recently published a manual teaching Earth Humans how to improve their telepathic communication skills, as well as the protocol for inviting them for a visit. Jrooti was the first female P'nti that we were introduced to in late January, early February of 2015. Jrooti is one of their experienced cultural liaison and part of the all female mission team going out on CE5 visitation requests. Jrooti does not like her head cold and prefers the feel of silk scarves she has discovered here on Earth. In her off duty hours, Jrooti and other telepathic Star Nation friends visit the Amazon rain forest and telepathically merge with the large bird flocks there. They compete with each other forming moving images in the sky with thousands of birds at once in an art/sport called flykiting.

How does one describe Zufu? The best way is to say this...he is a man continually in search of his next cup of hot t'ch (ta-Cha). That's coffee to us Earth humans. Zufu (also affectionately known as 'Fuzz' to Radar) spent years working in aquatic studies and surveys, and has only recently transferred to the Information Desk at the Sandia Mountain facility where he has quickly become a regular favorite with the Twitter locals. One wonders if a personal coffee maker might not make an excellent present for this young Pnti.

With a nod to the classic science fiction movie "2001" this is Radar, the Earth media specialist of the Sandia Mountain Information Station, with reflections in visor of his EVA suit's helmet just like the movie's character Dr. David "Dave" Bowman.

Some things are what the P'nti call "universal joys"...something that brings a smile, a laugh, or an instinct to joyfully play that crosses species. Soap bubbles are one of those thing.

Zufu often is on the information desk at the Sandia Station early in the mornings answering questions from the public. Straightforward with a wry sense of humor, Zufu often helps with sharing words and phrases from his language. When you are far, far from your own world, Earth can seem like a lonely place. One of the P'nti trainees of the Sandia Mountain Information Station requested this portrait and wanted to let us know that as exciting as participating in a planet's Official First Contact is, sometimes they still really do miss home.

Hand in Hand depicts the simple but powerful image of a flesh colored Earth Human hand whose fingers are intertwining with those of a grey skinned extraterrestrial. The symbolism here is a powerful one and depicts friendship, working together, cooperation, and moving toward Earth's Official First Contact as a unified pair instead of individually.

Orth, one of the P'nti of the Sandia Mountain Information Station helped us understand that our Zeta friends accept and embrace homosexuality within their culture. Orth told us that there were more genders out in the Milky Way Galaxy than we knew and when it comes to the expression of that, he smiled and simply said, "Love is love is love."

He is the Head of Security for the Sandia Mountain Information Station and proud companion to "Lost Kitty - Hairball of Light," the weeks old kitten he rescued outside the station one day not long ago. Now this telekinesis wielding Security Head must protect his tender toes from the sharp claws of a playful kitten by wearing fuzzy bunny slippers. Surely, those lenses hide nothing but the kindest eyes in the galaxy, right? We may soon find out - check back later!
