On my recent trip to Japan I was extremely inspired by the majesty of Mount Fuji! I decided to do "31 Views of Mt. Fuji" as my theme for this year's Inktober. All the paintings are done with Sumi Ink and are based on my photos that I took while in Japan ^-^ This is actually the view from the roof of the hostel we stayed at. It was quite a treat that we weren't expecting. We never stayed at a hostel before but it was spacious and clean, and very cozy. I wished we could have stayed longer, I could sit on that roof for the whole week haha

We were thrilled to find there were still plenty of flowers to oggle at. These ones were beautiful groupings of tiny, four-leafed purple flowers that I'm not quite sure what the name of is.

Hooker Valley in New Zealand South Island is between Aoraki/Mt Cook and Mt Cook Village. The trail along the valley is one of the most spectacular places on earth and on this winter's day, it was brilliant sunshine. I converted the original colour to B&W as it gives a far more dramatic effect. Using a red filter darkens the sky and I changed it to be completely black.
