Sitting at an elevation of 8,369 feet above sea level, Grand Lake is Colorado’s largest natural lake and home to some of the best fresh water fishing in all of North America. The lake's gold-medal waters have no shortage of mackinaw (lake trout), kokanee (sockeye) salmon, as well as rainbow, brook, German brown, and cutthroat trout. While many fish year round, Grand Lake is also known as the "Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado," so it's a great winter destination as well as when it snows, it snows a lot!
