Old Federal Park is a public park located on the eastern shore of Lake Lanier in northern Georgia, USA. The park has a rich history that dates back to the 1950s when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began constructing a series of dams along the Chattahoochee River to create hydroelectric power and prevent flooding. Lake Lanier was formed in 1956 as a result of the Buford Dam project, and Old Federal Park was one of the first recreational areas to be developed on its shores.
