The 6th ADA's lineage includes duty in the Philippines, WWII Europe and the Pacific and Vietnam. 6th ADA became the core of the School Brigade at Fort Bliss, responsible for training Air Defense units in everything from Vulcan to Spartan. The 6th's unit crest comes in both left and right versions.

The South Carolina National Guard's 263rd ADA has the oldest battle honors, going back to the Revolutionary War and the Artillery Company of Charles Town. The unit saw service during the Mexican War, the Civil War (it was in Confederate service at Fort Sumter), and in Italy and France during WWII. More recently, the regiment has become the core of the 263rd AAMDC and has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Appropriate medals for appropriate achievements, I always say. Well, no I don't ALWAYs say that. In fact, I think I've only said that once. No, wait... I only wrote it down....

Staying at South Camp outside of Sharm el-Sheikh had advantages over North Camp and El Gorah. Aside from having casinos, hotels, a Planet Hollywood, a bowling alley. etc. they also had motor scooter takeout for McDonald's to the front gate.

Back when Bubba Clinton was in charge someone got the bright idea to take away the traditional headgear of the U.S. Army, the patrol cap, and replace it with a beret. And not just any beret, but a BLACK beret. Rather than pick a color not in use they picked the color used by the Rangers... and Lewinsky.

There's no indoor movie theater at Guantanamo Bay, but you can watch movies under the stars.... with the local animals...

Pogs were cardstock "coins" given out as change by AAFES in Iraq and Afghanistan. They featured photos of U.S. servicemembers, past and present... OK, so maybe Beaker wouldn't have been on the "A" list!
