Spring is around the corner, I can feel it. At any rate, there is a tree in blossom just around the corner from where I live, which has to count for something. Even if it HAS been a cold & rainy southern hemisphere winter weekend where I live.

Had a lot of fun with this, messing around with colours and patterns (as usual.)

A soft and simple pattern to get me back into the swing of things. I took ten days off from my artwork to move house, it's been very busy and I can't honestly say that the last box is unpacked yet, but ten days away from here was all I could take... Here's to new beginnings, new houses, pencil doodles, honeycomb patterns and hexagons! : )

....is so darn difficult to shoot - she won't keep still for a SECOND. However, I did my best and here she is. She delights me daily with her antics and her magical character entrances all who come into contact with her. My daughter, Grace (6), dressed in the beautiful bougainvillea that flourishes outside my bedroom window, which continually calls me to take photographs of it. Having said that, how many bougainvillea pics can you possibly take before everybody is bored silly? (and I've done quite a few...) So I thought I'd do a different take on bougainvillea, although I'm not great with photoshop.

Our South African Freestate summer with plenty of rain has produced an abundance of roses in our farmhouse garden. This is one of them. Edited in Photoshop CS2 using my own textures. I think maybe I have a thing for little houses... and for caravans... : ) This took me ages, but I found it very relaxing for some reason. Hand drawn and coloured with pencil crayons.

My little artist, Mila (4), who draws all day long and who would paint all day long, if I would let her. This was taken using natural light, in front of my bedroom window. More and more I find myself wishing I had studio lights.... sigh... How wonderful that would be. I used my 18-55mm lens because I wanted to see if I am still capable of taking a portrait without my macro lens, which I tend to use for everything. : ) Camera Model Canon EOS 500D

I am no landscape photographer. But I dream. So, if you're a landscape photographer, and you're looking at this, and you have advice for me...Bring it on!!! I especially need advice regarding ND Grad filters which I don't own yet, which I really want to get. My budget is limited and I can't get lots, so which ones are most useful? Please help!! This was taken in South Africa, between Clarens and Fouriesburg, close to our new (tiny) farm. It is the view looking from South Africa into Lesotho.

This is Mila (4 and a half) and Levi (12 days old.) I've never done any digital painting before, I'm not even sure what exactly qualifies as a digital painting. Anyway, Mila was holding Levi and they looked so cute together, only the background was this ugly grey mesh (they were on our porch swing bench) so I decided to try my hand at a painting style image. I used another image of mine (of a flower) as part of the background.
