A gray horse stands in profile, facing to the viewer's right. It lifts its front foreleg and slightly arches its neck, its head perpendicular to the ground. Its coat is lightly dappled and has white socks on every leg. It has a stylized, almost wood-carved look to the curling light brown tail. The mane is cut short, or roached. It was not the most common style on carousels but it was popular on carousel horses decorated in military themes. Digital illustration using Procreate and Affinity Photo.

I made this as I navigate changes in my size and the mad internalized propaganda of fatness being weaponized against women and the realization that until I can be "ugly" in whatever way it's considered, without punishment, rejection, violence - I'm not free.
