Nautical Mugs

Prints from my original pastel drawing on paper. It is abstract, but is suggestive of chain links, rope or perhaps a part of a broken fishing net. Grey and blue tones impart a beachy, coastal feel. I used beautiful creamy pastels in a moody blue-grey spectrum for this drawing, from Toulouse, France.

The dolphin leapt out of the water in a beautiful arc among the sparkling reflections of the sun on the water. It probably took me 30 shots to time his jump in Ft. Meyers, Florida.

Prints from my original pastel drawing on paper. It is abstract, but it reminds me of tangled octopus tentacles with lots of suckers facing up out of the page…but could also be a coiled mess of thick rope from a boat, on the sea floor. What do you see?

Prints (I-III) from my original acrylic painting on canvas. Abstract but inspired by watching the air and ocean currents, animated on a weather map on television one day. Some of the whorls and swirls remind me of fingerprints ("dermatoglyphs"). The painting became an exercise in mindfulness!

An enduring love for the ocean and all its creatures inspired this abstract drawing on paper. I used a beautiful set of blue and grey pastels, which I applied direct from the pastel itself and blended with my fingers. It was a lovely sensory experience! These pastels were gifted to me by a loved one, from Toulouse, France.
