These insects vary greatly in terms of color and size. The smaller dragonflies have a wing span of about 20 millimeters. The larger ones have wings that open up to about 6 inches. The wings are stretched out on the sides of the body even when the dragonfly is resting. Adult dragonflies mainly feed on other insects, and their body structure makes them relentless hunters. They fly faster than most other insects and can instantly change the direction of flight, hovering in the air like tiny helicopters. Its large eyes locate fangs above, below, in front, behind and to either side of them.
