Charles (CM) Russell, the “cowboy artist”, created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States. He lived and worked among the cowboys and the Blood Indian tribe in his younger years. This image is called “The Peace Pipe” and depicts an Indian brave lighting a long narrow pipe of tobacco sitting cross legged in his teepee.
