Pendle Panopticon Number of views as of 7th July 2019 = 1100. This is "Atom", the Pendle Panopticon, part of a "visionary scheme to create a unique series of 21st century landmarks across East Lancashire... as symbols of the renaissance of the area". Obviously the lunatics are no longer confined to the asylum and have infiltrated Lancashire County Council, whose idea it was "to encourage a wider public to discover Wycoller and from there to go on and explore the delights of the surrounding countryside". An admirable aim chaps, but perhaps a few brochures would have done the trick! Pendle College, Lancaster University

This photo was taken in Pendle along one of the witch trial routes. I took a different turn on a drive and found a really pretty layby, seen this beauty, and I like to think that there are fairies living inside!

During the lockdown here in England, I was taking drives out around my local area and was really so inspired by the landscape. This painting was made using watercolour and ink.

The trials of the Pendle witches in 1612 are among the most famous witch trials in English history, and some of the best recorded of the 17th century. The twelve accused lived in the area surrounding Pendle Hill in Lancashire, and were charged with the murders of ten people by the use of witchcraft.
