Manufactured at MG's Abingdon factory (near Oxford, England) between 1955 and 1962, over 100,000 MGAs were built, the vast majority (94%) of which were exported, the highest export percentage of any British car. A red MGA played a starring role in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii with a supporting cast including Elvis Presley and Angela Lansbury.
