In its day a gracious urban emporium, the Center City Philadelphia flagship store added branch stores starting in the 1930s, and together they enjoyed annual sales of over a billion dollars by their zenith in the 1980s

The 49th State Hawaii Record Company is a defunct Hawaiian record label specializing in traditional Hawaiian music. Established in 1948 by George K. Ching, the label was purchased by Cord International in the early 1990s.

Check out this Dayton's Department Store Minneapolis Minnesota Vintage Retro design. Dayton's was a department store chain founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1902 by George Draper Dayton. The 6-story department store was located on the corner of 7th Street and Nicollet Avenue. It was a twin cities institution and known for beautiful holiday displays.

Remembering Mongomery Ward. The original Montgomery Ward & Co. was a world-pioneering mail-order business and later also a leading department store chain that operated between 1872 and 2001. Many humoruosly refrerred to it as Monkey Ward.

El Cartel Records (formerly known as Los Cangris Inc. and El Cartel Productions) is a Puerto Rican record company. The release of Barrio Fino, Daddy Yankee's first commercially successful album, is notable for being the label's first distributed album.

J & S Records was a New York record label started in 1956 and continued through to the early 1970s. The owner was Zelma "Zell" Sanders (1922–1976), one of the few woman label owners in the record business. In the early 1950s Sanders was managing a girl vocal group, The Hearts. She arranged a contract for them on New York's Baton Records and hired and fired members until she got the mix she wanted. In mid-1956 she decided to start her own label, J & S Records.

In August of 1947, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for College Town Clothes by Cliftex Corporation. The current federal status of the trademark College Town Clothes is registration cancelled.

Remembering the great Kaufmann’s Department Store. If you lived in Pittsburgh PA this was the place. Kaufmann's flagship store was built in 1887 at 400 Fifth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. It was known as The Big Store. And no wonder, at one point, the building was the largest department store in Pittsburgh with twelve retail floors, spanning an entire downtown city block. Kaufmann's Big Store had a landmark outdoor clock at Fifth Avenue and Smithfield Street. It was popular downtown meeting place, with the oft-used phrase "Meet me under Kaufmann's clock."  The clock is still a Pittsburgh icon.

It was among the most successful American and international five-and-dime businesses, setting trends and creating the modern retail model that stores follow worldwide today. It's where we did all our shopping when we were kids.

Remembering Bamberger’s Department Store. Newark, New Jersey. Bamberger's was a department store chain with locations primarily in New Jersey, also with locations in the states of Delaware, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania. The downtown Newark building was not only a department store but also a radio station. WOR was established by Bamberger Broadcasting Service in 1922. The broadcast studio was located on the sixth floor. On October 11, 1949, WOR-TV (channel 9) signed on the air, becoming the last of the New York metropolitan area VHF television stations to begin operations.

Remembering Stix, Baer & Fuller. Stix, Baer and Fuller was a department store chain in St. Louis, Missouri that operated from 1892 to 1984. For many years the company was known as the leading high-end fashion store in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

Remembering LINENS-N-THINGS. Linens 'n Things was a Clifton, New Jersey-based big-box retailer specializing in home textiles, housewares, and decorative home accessories. The chain operated 571 stores in 47 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.

Springman Records is an independent record label founded in 1998 by Avi Ehrlich that was run out of his parents' garage in Cupertino, California, until late 2005, when Ehrlich moved the label to Sacramento. The label's official slogan is "Friendly Punks" though many other styles of music appear on the label, such as indie rock, rockabilly, ska, folk music, pop punk, and hardcore. In 2007, Springman stopped releasing albums, but launched Silver Sprocket, a bicycle club that also releases records with a more collective and community-oriented philosophy. Silver Sprocket members jokingly refer to themselves as a cult on their Myspace page.

One Day Savior Recordings was an American independent record label founded in 1997 by Christopher Tzompanakis. The record label was most prominent in the hardcore and indie rock communities, releasing metalcore, post-hardcore and emo by such bands as Boys Night Out, Dearly Departed, Embodyment, Hopesfall, The Juliana Theory, The Killing Tree, The Movielife, Onelinedrawing, Paulson, Skycamefalling, The Sleeping and Tabula Rasa. One Day Savior Recordings was originally headquartered in Williston Park, Long Island, New York, where it remained until it was put under hiatus in 2008. The company was eventually sold to Tommy Melissen in 2010, its operations relocating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
