I'm really enjoying working with art deco shapes and themes, this is one of three colorways.

A new doodle / pattern inspired by the proteas growing in my garden. I really love them, such heavy, velvety, complex & detailed flowers; they are like sculptures. This is the second of four colour versions.

A combination of one of the patterns I keep coming back to, the doodles I can't seem to stop myself from doing and all my favourite colours. : )

Reilly (2 and a half) is at that wonderful age where, if you leave him alone for half a minute, he will empty the shampoo bottle out in your bed, or you will find him in the kitchen with the sugar bowl, sugar-encrusted hands and face, and sugar all around him on the floor. A cute color scale pattern.

His name is Hudson, but we call him Buddy. We have this ancient radio that has cool details and I had an idea to use it as a backdrop for a portrait photo, but when I asked him to pose for me, all I got was goofy grins and serious self-consciousness until I had the bright idea to give him the remote release and let him do it himself. Once he got going, there was no stopping him! As far as he was concerned, I wasn't even there. The delight on his face has got nothing to do with quality time with Mom, and everything to do with 'male-remote-control-delight-response'..... Canon 400D, natural light.

More from our holiday, where I never got much beyond snapshot mode, being too busy building sand castles and the like. Hudson (4) and Mila (2) walking together as they often do; no doubt Hudson is telling Mila deep and mysterious insights into the nature of the universe, love, life and how to get Mom to buy ice creams... Taken at Strand, Somerset West, South Africa

This portrait of Mila (2) was taken in the back garden. Her older sister, Perrin, ran around behind her holding a black cloth to act as a 'backdrop' for me. In true 2 year old style, she decided today was the day that she would NOT smile, and as for looking at the camera... you can forget it. Keeping still was also not an option. So this is the end result of a frustrating shoot, but maybe the more interesting for it.

It was a really windy and freezing day when we shot this... I'd had this idea of using milk to contrast with Johnny's beautiful hands. Poor thing, it must have been freezing! In most of the shots the milk was flying all over the place because of the wind, and we were working outside because it was too dark to shoot inside. Johnny is a star. Destined for great things, I'm sure.
