Situated in North Yorkshire, this is a magnificent example of an ancient ruin, well worth a visit if you ever get chance.

Meditating Yeti of the Himalayas in the style of Paul Gauguin

The annual meditation had begun. The elders were gathered in prayer and the flightless dragon, which had journeyed from its cave high in the pinnacles, breathed light, and started the process. It didn't take long and things started stirring in the depths... I've always wanted to try a dragon. Mine is wingless and more like a Dragonosaurus :) It's been a fun exercise doing a larger scale digital painting. Using Photoshop, I created it in greyscale first, to get the tonal balance as I wanted it, then I added a gradient colour wash to suggest the basic hues of the scene. After that it was just a case of trying to work out what the light would be doing and attempting to bounce that off relevant shapes with the right value.

They run past the Paladins, Barbarians, and Rogues all struggling to land a blow on the might dragon. What does the Monk do? He punches it. The Dragon lets out a roar of laughter until the blow lands where the wing is knocked out of its ancient lungs. Never underestimate the Monk. Monks know how to roll with the Punches

There is a railway line that goes round Rangoon calling at just about everybody's back garden. It costs the locals about 10 cents while we have to pay $1. It takes at least a couple of hours to go all the way round. You can get off anywhere and wander then catch another train either way. Second class is best as it has a more native feel, but hard seats. First class has softish seats and is more middle class.

Taken on a visit to Lumbini where Buddha was supposed to have been born. Didn't think much of the site especially with all the security, or the vast empty parkland around.
