Sigrún is a Valkyrie in Norse mythology. Her story is related in Helgakviða Hundingsbana I and Helgakviða Hundingsbana II, in the Poetic Edda. Sigrún expressed that she only ruled in the absence of the true queen, technically making her a Regent.

According to Scandinavian mythology, each of the virgins, daughters and messengers of the god of war, Odin, who had the mission to choose the heroes or the strongest fighters killed in combat to take them to Valhalla (Odin's paradise). According to legend, they were virgin warriors who rode on horses, boars or wolves, armed with spears and wearing helmets with the mission to protect Odin — supreme chief of the kingdom of Asgard, where the Norse gods dwell. The word "valkyrie" means "to choose the dead".

Fate of the Norns - The Illuminated Edda Hild wields the legendary sword Dainsleif. The sword is said to be able to bring back the dead from the grave. Hild used it to reanimate the dead every night so that two armies could fight once more when the sun arose the next day. Hervor wields the legendary sword Tyrfing. Tyrfing is said to carry three curses. These curses would shed the blood of the innocent. Once the blade was drawn, Hel would be receiving an unexpected guest, someone who was not meant to die this day. Show your Viking pride!

Vegvísir, theViking Compass. It is an eight-pointed shape, with each point having a unique design. It is one of many Icelandic magical staves, or galdrastafir, which were supposedly used to channel magic in specific ways. There were sigils for protection, strength, guidance and assistance with specific tasks or areas of life.

They say that the all-father Odin discovered the runes. He hanged himself from the world tree, Yggdrasil, for nine nights, pierced in his side by his own spear. Once there he received no aid, no food, no water. A sacrifice of himself to himself. Peering into the Well of Urd, on the ninth night, the secrets of the runes finally became clear.
