"Stand It Up" is an art print I created using an impasto oil technique of two people pulling a hot air balloon upright after being inflated. The technique focuses on the bright colors of hot air balloons and uses bold brush strokes for emphasis. Hot air balloons stand out prominent with their colors against the sky. The bold reds, blues, oranges, greens and yellows take center stage. The setting is a group of hot air balloons getting ready for their sunset ascent. The location is in San Diego County near the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The setting is Carlsbad, California along the coast highway. Carlsbad is located in the northern part of San Diego County and is a popular beach town. In this particular area, there is a sidewalk up on the bluff overlooking the beach and surf of the Pacific Ocean. Little Brown Church In Sepia is a sepia tone photographic art print of the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The church was built in 1864 and was made famous by a song. It is well known in Iowa as a unique place to have a small wedding. This capture was taken in the middle of February during a light snow. I used a sepia tone finish on the photograph for that old rustic look. The sepia brown tones originated with film photography as part of the process to develop the prints in the 1800’s. Today, we can recreate that same vintage look digitally. Griffith Observatory And Downtown Los Angeles is a black and white photographic art print of the observatory in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. The architectural elements of the observatory create a great black and white photograph. To enhance the art deco look and the age of the building, I used some filters to create more of an edgy look to the final print. Looking south from the park gives you a spectacular view of the city core of Seattle.
