Edinburgh, Railings, Flowers, Shadows Pin

I took a last walk around this area of Edinburgh. The sun was shining again, the heat palpable, and in the air I detected the familiar tang of the hops from the breweries, several miles away. I walked on the quiet street, at the southern fringe of the New Town, fascinated by the symmetry and the evocative implicity of the Georgian buildings. I wanted to capture the play between the light, the colour of the stone, and the splashes of white from the painted walls and window frames. This work is a beautiful souvenir of a Scottish summer, a great gift and a perfect collection to any collection of Edinburgh artwork.
