Choose to learn and use meditation in stead of substances and other less healthy stress relievers. A lot of studies have found it very healthy for the mind, body and spirit in general. It works by helping them to maintain equilibrium/balance/coherence within themselves and between each other. You can consider this a tuning process that makes everything to work better! Note: Many pharmaceuticals do not work well and cause health complications. They need to be reserved as a last resort.
