Anomalocaris Fossils Pin

This illustration depicts three fossils, which were originally identified individually, but were ultimately found to be parts from a single, large animal: Anomalocaris! Anomalocaris was among the first of the great apex predators to swim the Earth's oceans. Though it was not overly large by present standards, back in the Cambrian Period it was a giant! Fossils of this famous animal have been found in rock formations throughout the world, most notably the Burgess Shale.
